KARLA SANTIAGO VARGAS
LIFELONG HORSE LOVER AND PROFESSIONAL; SEASONED DONKEY WRANGLER; FOUNDER & OWNER
Karla grew up in Mexico City and moved to Texas 20 years ago- her passion for horses started with her Dad being the youngest of 5 from Guadalajara, Jalisco. Karla’s dad grew up with horses also and trained quarter horses for roping but his family background started with racing horses.
Karla started riding western style at the age of 9 years old. Karla is trained in multiple riding styles, including dressage, English and Western.
Karla is also the founder and driving force behind her donkey rescue, the Association for Donkey and Equine Haven USA. Her passion for donkeys started with little Dixie, who was introduced to her by cutting legend, Punk Carter and was the driving force for the Donkey Horse Rescue that she begun on her own over 11 years ago. Because of her love and passion for those without a voice, she has been able to help close to 1000 horses and donkeys.

Extensive knowledge in equestrian care, breeding, veterinarian care, nutrition management, training, clinics, and Equestrian Center management and promotion. Internationally recognized in trade papers, magazines, and articles promoting the sport of Morphologic and Classic Dressage.
